
SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 34
(By Senators Minard, Sharpe, Anderson, Ross, Oliverio, Prezioso,
Kessler, Edgell, Helmick, Fanning, Unger, McCabe, Snyder,
Plymale, Jackson, Bailey, Craigo, Caldwell, Redd, Love, Burnette,
Boley, Minear, Bowman, Wooton, Sprouse, Facemyer and Tomblin, Mr.
President)
Congratulating the Bridgeport High School Indians baseball,
football and basketball teams.
Whereas, Violence and threat of violence committed by and
against high school students throughout the nation often taints
those students who are industrious, conscientious and productive;
and
Whereas, Illustrations of this diligence and sense of purpose
in our children deserve recognition and commendation. A prime
example of these attributes is found in the exceptional athletic
record of Bridgeport High School of Harrison County; and
Whereas, The Bridgeport High School Indians were the winners
of the 2000 Class AA baseball championship. The Indians returned in the fall to win the 2000 Class AA football championship. The
Indians again achieved excellence by winning the 2001 Class AA
basketball championship; and
Whereas, The Legislature and the entire State of West Virginia
take pride in the unparalleled accomplishments attained by the
outstanding athletes of Bridgeport High School; therefore, be it


Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the Bridgeport High
School baseball, football and basketball teams, each player and
coach and the entire athletic program at Bridgeport High School on
their outstanding championship accomplishments; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is directed to forward a copy
of this resolution to the superintendent of the Harrison County
Board of Education, the principal of Bridgeport High School and
each of the coaches of the baseball, football and basketball teams.
